Listen safely

Choose the right place

Only listen somewhere you can safely relax — somewhere you can comfortably sit back or lie down and let go for a while. A bed, a couch, a quiet chair. Somewhere you won't be disturbed.

Never listen while you need your attention elsewhere

This is the one firm rule. Never listen while driving, operating machinery, or doing anything that needs your focus or alertness. These recordings are designed to relax you and draw your attention inward, so save them for moments when it's perfectly fine to drift.

Headphones make it better

For the deepest, most immersive experience, use headphones or earbuds in a quiet space. The voice and soundscape are crafted to wrap around you, and headphones let the subtle details come through.

You are always in control

You can't get “stuck” in trance — that simply isn't a thing. Trance is a natural, focused-relaxation state you actually pass through every day on your way into and out of sleep. You remain aware the whole time.

• You can open your eyes, move, speak, or stop the audio whenever you like.
• If you ever want to come back to full alertness, just stop the recording and take a few breaths. You'll feel normal in moments.
• Nothing can make you act against your own values, morals, or wishes. You always choose what you accept and what you don't.

Drifting and dozing off is normal

It's completely normal to lose track of time, drift, or even fall asleep — especially with relaxing or bedtime audio. That's not a sign anything went wrong; it often means you let go beautifully.

Consent and clear tags — you choose

You're always in the driver's seat about what you listen to. Every recording is clearly tagged so you know what you're getting before you begin. Read the tags, pick what feels right for you, and only listen to content you genuinely want to experience.

Comfortable volume

Set the volume to a soft, comfortable level — clear enough to follow easily, never loud. You should be able to relax into it, not strain or wince.

A note on alcohol and substances

Please don't listen while under the influence of alcohol or recreational substances. You'll get a richer, safer experience with a clear head.

Who should be cautious or sit this out

Most people enjoy relaxation audio with no issues at all. That said, a little extra care is wise if any of the following apply to you. This is general guidance, not medical advice — when in doubt, please check with a qualified healthcare professional first.

• Epilepsy or seizure sensitivity. If you have epilepsy or are sensitive to audio or visual triggers, please speak with your doctor before listening, and avoid any flashing-visual content.
• Serious mental-health conditions, psychosis, or dissociation. If you live with a serious psychiatric condition, experience psychosis, or have a history of dissociation, please consult a professional before using relaxation or hypnosis audio.
• If a doctor has advised you to avoid this kind of content, please follow their guidance.
• If you simply feel unsure, it's always okay to ask a healthcare professional first.
